What are data points?

Data points are the structured representation of individual items within a document that carry information. Using data points, we can establish the connection between any given piece of information and its formal type, such as simple text fields, numbers, dates, bar codes, or even images.

In addition to its type, each data point gets a name, representing its meaning. Examples are a delivery date, an address, the price of a list item, or any other piece of information that can be extracted from a given document.

Data points can be combined into a hierarchical schema using lists and groups, forming the blueprint for the structured representation of your data.
